Is there scientific evidence for the effectiveness of the Davis programmes?
Yes, there’s is a growing body of research into the effectiveness of the Davis® methods. Find out about the science here.
How much will reading improve after the 30-hour Davis Dyslexia Correction programme?
The level of improvement will vary, depending on the age of the learner and the degree to which they were struggling before starting the programme. Individual factors can influence the rate of progress too. Having said that, it’s common for a child who’s completed a Davis Dyslexia programme to be able to read to a higher level for their age by the end of a 30-hour programme. In almost all cases, there will be a noticeable improvement over the course of the 30 hours.

How can I be sure this will work for me/my child?
A Davis programme will not work for everyone. That is why I meet with you before you commit to a programme, to make sure it is likely to be helpful. Find out about the Symptom Profile session here or contact me to arrange a free consultation over the phone.
Can my child’s teacher get involved in the programme?
Yes – I’m happy to speak to your child’s teacher before or after the programme – or both.
· Before a programme, your child’s teacher may have observed things about your child that are useful to me to know.
· After a programme, I’ll have a very detailed picture of how your child thinks and learns, because we’ve spent 30 hours working together one-to-one. So, I may be able to give your child’s teacher useful insights into how your child learns best.
Note, though, that I will only ever speak to a teacher with your child’s permission. A programme can only be successful if a bond of trust exists between me and your child. As part of this bond of trust, your child needs to have control over who I communicate with about their programme.
Why the high cost for providing the programme?
When you choose a Davis® programme, you receive at least 36 hours of individual attention from a licensed Davis® Facilitator who has completed a minimum of 400 hours of specialised training. During this training, great emphasis is placed on the development of personal qualities such as interpersonal sensitivity, keenness of observation, a non-judgmental attitude and the art of motivation, as well as on acquiring the technical skills and knowledge needed to work as a Facilitator.
When you look at the results, a Davis programme is a very good investment in your own or your child’s future.
Why should the different programmes only be facilitated by a registered Davis Dyslexia Correction® Facilitator?
A Davis Dyslexia Correction® Facilitator is required to complete a minimum of 400 training hours. These hours are not only used to test their theoretical knowledge of the programme, but is also applied to develop their interpersonal skills to ensure the client receives a non-judgmental programme while he/she is motivated to flourish in their new found accomplishments.
Can you work with me/my child at my home?
By special arrangement, programmes can take place at a client’s home. If this is possible, my travel and accommodation costs will be added to the overall fee for the programme. Please get in touch to find out more.
