Coming up during Dyslexia Awareness Week
Free Dyslexia Advice Sessions in Forres Library
Second year running this free advice session is for anyone affected by dyslexia. An opportunity to gather information and ideas and to speak about challenges and strengths related to dyslexia, dyscalculia (problems with numbers and maths) and attention problems. There will be materials to offer you information and inspiration. Everyone welcome.
When? Tuesday 6th November 2018, 2.00 – 7.00 pm

I am taking part in the Dyslexia Scotland Elgin Drop in during Dyslexia Awareness Week. This event will be a rich mix of information and opportunities to chat and connect. Join me to find out how the Davis method can help creative learners and make use of the yearly exhibition of the local Dyslexia Scotland branch.

Sad News: No more Free Dyslexia Advice Sessions in Inverness Library
Before the summer holidays I received a call from management. IN short as a private business I am not permitted to offer free advice sessions in Inverness Library. My gratitude goes to all the amazing individuals I met during the one year of monthly visits. It has been my privilege to hear your stories and offer all my skills, knowledge and experience. Best feedback from a dyslexic adult and parent ” I learned more in 30 minutes here about dyslexia than in years’. Thanks also to the hardworking, kind and supportive library staff with whom I had so many wee chats. Looking ahead I plan to offer a talk combined and advice session in Inverness at a later date. More details to be confirmed. With the ongoing cuts for learning support by Highland Councils it is sad to delete the input of independent specialists who working for free : (
